‘A Horse Has More Blood Than a Human’ by Abolfazl Talouni and ‘The Leaves’ directed by Hamid Jafari will have their world premiere at the 51st edition of the event.
Both documentary feature films will take part at the ‘International Medium Length & Short Film Competition’ section of the festival.
‘The Leaves’ is about a 60-year-old man who had once decided to take his life many years ago, but after a sudden incident, he changes his mind and decides to dedicate his life to the environment.
Talouni narrates the story of an old couple who leave Tehran and return to their idyllic home town on the Turkish border, but their dreams of quiet retirement are shattered by the realization that their town has become a smuggling gateway into Europe.
Amin Behroozzadeh’s ‘Fish Eye’ will be also competing at the ‘International Documentary Feature Competition’ of the Swiss film event.
‘Fish Eye’ follows Parsian Shila, Iran’s biggest industrial fishing boat that plans to catch 2000 tons of tuna fish. The film depicts the cruelty and harsh conditions of the job, and just how nature is affected by this activity.
Established in 1969, Visions du Réel (Visions of Reality) is an internationally renowned documentary film festival and the largest Swiss documentary festival. The week-long festival is open to worldwide entries.
The event is to be held in Nyon, Switzerland on April 24-May 02, 2020.
